Harry Potter enthusiasts got to meet Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne today (September 1) after they made a special appearance at the annual ‘Back to Hogwarts’ Day held at King’s Cross railway station.

The British actors, who both have roles in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, wowed fans as they paused for a series of pictures and helped attendees perform the traditional countdown to 11am.

‘Back to Hogwarts’ Day is a giant gathering of Potterheads which takes place on this day every year.

It commemorates the date young wizards and witches make their way to Platform 9 3/4, as the Hogwarts Express whisks the fledgling students away into a breathtaking world of magic.

Fans were found queuing for hours to get photo opportunities with the famous luggage trolley which wheels between the walls of the station’s ninth and tenth platforms.

However, instead of staff members waiting at the prop, there stood the on-screen young Albus Dumbledore and Newt Scamander.

Amazon Studios is under way in the UK on ballooning survival pic The Aeronauts, starring Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne.

Creators & Stars On #MeToo Timing & Blazing A…
The online giant has released a striking first look of the two actors (who starred opposite each other in The Theory Of Everything) 2,000 feet in the air.

Tom Courtenay (45 Years), Anne Reid (The Last Tango In Halifax), Rebecca Front (The Thick of It), Vincent Perez (Riviera), Tim McInnery (Game of Thrones), Phoebe Fox (The Hollow Crown) and Himesh Patel (forthcoming Danny Boyle, Richard Curtis project) have joined the cast.

Pic is directed by BAFTA nominee Tom Harper (War & Peace) and is written by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter And The Cursed Child).

Set in 1862, the film follow wealthy young widow Amelia Wren (Jones) and ambitious scientist James Glaisher (Redmayne) as they mount a balloon expedition to fly higher than anyone in history. The chances of survival are slim.

The film is produced by Harper, with Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman for Mandeville Films (Beauty And The Beast); and executive produced by Richard Hewitt. FilmNation is handling sales.

“A top priority for us on The Aeronauts is authenticity. With that in mind, we intend to do as much balloon filming in the sky as the weather will allow. This image was taken after we launched Felicity and Eddie 2,000 feet in the air, performing their scripted scene, while a helicopter captured it all. We’re fortunate that Felicity and Eddie have the nerve to do these stunts themselves as it authenticates our entire approach,” said Lieberman.

Director of Photography is George Steel (Peaky Blinders), with costumes by Alexandra Byrne (Elizabeth: The Golden Age) and hair and make-up by Jenny Shircore (Beauty And The Beast). Production designers are David Hindle (The Theory of Everything) and Christian Huband (Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them). Louis Morin (Arrival) is the VFX Supervisor.

Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne are in advanced negotiations to star in The Good Nurse, a thriller based on the book by Charles Graeber and scripted by Krysty Wilson-Cairns. Tobias Lindholm is set to make his English-language feature directing debut. BRON Studios, run by Aaron L. Gilbert, has come aboard to finance and will release through Lionsgate. Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa is producing as well.

TV Deal
The pic tells the true story of the pursuit and capture of Charlie Cullen, a nurse who is regarded as one of the most prolific serial killers in history. Now called “Angel of Death,” Cullen was a married father who was thought to be a responsible caretaker, but his secret compulsion to take life led to his implication in the deaths of as many as 300 patients over 16 years, spread across nine hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Redmayne will play Cullen, who was caught by two former Newark homicide detectives who wouldn’t let go, aided by a nurse who worked alongside Cullen and risked her job and family’s safety to stop him. Chastain will play the nurse whose dogged pursuit helped end the killing spree.

It shows the versatility of Redmayne, the Oscar-winning star who most recently has been playing Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts series of films that spun off Harry Potter. He is separately poised to reteam with his Theory of Everything costar Felicity Jones in The Aeronauts. Redmayne is repped by CAA, United Agents, and attorney Karl Austen.

Chastain most recently shot X-Men: Dark Phoenix and is starring in It: Chapter Two. She also was the catalyst for the female spy thriller 355, on which Universal acquired U.S. rights to a FilmNation-constructed pic which was the hottest project at Cannes last May. Simon Kingberg will direct Chastain, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Lupita Nyong’o, and Bingbing Fan. Chastain’s repped by CAA and Mosaic.
Lindholm is the Danish writer-director whose 2015 film A War (Krigen), about a Danish military company captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan, was Oscar nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. His other films include the hostage drama A Hijacking, Submarino and R, and he is acclaimed for his work on the TV drama Borgen and for teaming with Thomas Vinterberg on the script for the Oscar-nominated The Hunt. His films use the workplace to delve into morally complex subject matter, which makes him a strong fit for a thriller set in the caregiver industry.

Wilson-Cairns, a writer on Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, is on a hot streak, having also co-authored the script for buzzed-about Sam Mendes World War I movie 1917, which we revealed in June. She is repped by CAA, United Agents and Gang Tyre.
